Nice to meet you, Elizabeth. Welcome to the Carolinas! I’ve lived here for over 20 years and LOVE it! Drive one way and you’re in the mountains, drive the other way and you’re at the beach. Glad you found The Carolina Clipper; thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

Do you have an recommendations for inexpensive eateries? My family will be visiting Charlotte for several days. We live in SW Virginia so while I have a game plan on things to do(Lego store, Carowinds, Nature Place) I’m less certain on eating out. I hear Carowinds food is expensive and not quite good so I’d love some ideas on where to take the family in between roller coasters, lego building, and butterflies.

    • Richelle says:

You can use my Kids Eat Free list to find many inexpensive places to eat! Also, you can use Restaurant.com to buy a voucher to eat at a Charlotte area restaurant (example, pay $10 for a $25 voucher!). Finally, you can check out daily deals for the area (such as Groupon) to buy restaurant deals (example, $6 for $12 worth of food). Hope you enjoy our great city!
