Last night we got to attend the Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream show. The boys were so excited to see Flynn and the gang.
I didn’t realize it would feature a bunch of different Disney stories and was a bit concerned when I saw a voodoo guy and some really scary costumes from the Princess and the Frog (which I’ve never seen).
Once they moved onto Cinderella – my all time favorite! – and other characters we were all mesmerized! The costumes glittered under the lights and the acrobatics were amazing. Who knew they could fly in the air in all sorts of ways with ice skates on? I found myself clapping and cheering with delight!
Thanks to my friend, Amy for the pic of Rapunzel and Flynn.
You can still go! Tickets start at $7.50 on opening night OR you can use the coupon code “ICE” to save $6 on Saturday at 6:30pm or the Sunday performances.

We were able to go Friday night and we had a ball!! I had told the kids that we were going to see a surprise that night so they were excited all day long. The girls got dressed up in their Cinderella dresses and they thought we were going to another birthday party [they attended one last week and got to wear princess dresses!]. When we got there, my son asked more than once “But Mommy, where is MY surprise?” I guess he figured that all those princesses meant that the show was only for the girls!! He felt much better when he was able to pick out a sword with Flynn from Rapunzel after the show. I also was a bit worried about the scenes from Princess and the Frog, but they did not go overboard like in the movie. My absolute favorite part was the end when all the princesses and princes came out in their wedding costumes!! It was beautiful!! I did not know what to expect but Disney always aims to please
. I am glad we were able to go . . . I only wish that they would not bombard the crowd with all of that overpriced merchandise. Good grief!!
Nena, I’m so glad to hear you had a good time! I agree about the merchandise (and the food!); we had a talk with our boys prior to the show to prevent meltdowns.
Its such as you learn my thoughts! You seem to understand so much about this, like you wrote the ebook in it or something. I believe that you just could do with a few percent to power the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is excellent blog. An excellent read. I’ll certainly be back.
